Probably the best machine available in this price range. It has a solid construction and an attractive design. Punched-paper tray is included, and spare combs compartment is a useful feature for home use. Quite heavy.
This is the best binding machine for my small home business. I contemplated buying a cheaper one, but after reading reviews about paper jamming, bits breaking off other brands, etc, I decided to invest a little bit more for the Fellowes machine. It is sturdy, well built, and does the job. My book is 300 pages and it looks great. I used slightly heavier 100 GSM paper, and was able to punch 7 to 10 pages at once with ease. Instantly laying the punched pages onto the combs streamlined the process. Within 15 minutes I had the book bound.
Having previously bought, put up with as eventually broken a GBC100 comb bind, I was very uncertain what to do about a replacement and if I would be throwing more money away and tearing out more hair in a fiddly effort to get a document bound.
Well, this product is superb. It is sturdily constructed, simple to use and simply does the job asked. No fuss. Highest recommendation.
The comb binder is ideal for limited runs of training manuals. It is easy to set-up and use. It was perfect for my application. It is preferred by our students to the ring binders which were bulky and it seemed to keep everything tidy during the class.
Having bought a number of cheaper basic comb binding machines over the years, and been disappointed with them, I decided to go for a better quality machine. The Fellowes Pulsar+300 is excellent, with a number of very useful design features that I have not encountered before, such as the comb storage draw with comb diameters and paper thickness guide.
However, all previous machines bought have a carrying handle, which (considering the size and weight) is a distinct disadvantage with this machine. There is plenty of room for this in the front.
