The 552 is one of a Professional Series of Trimmers from Dahle offering superb efficiency and precision cutting up to A3 cutting lengths.
All 552 Trimmer units have a sturdy metal table with non-slip rubber feet for firm standing, pre-printed with all practical format lines with mm / inch graduation along the cutting edge to facilitate the alignment of the material to be cut.
Cutting up to 20 sheets the ground, rotating circular high quality circular and lower blade are both hardened for burr free cutting results, and are encased in a plastic housing head which guarantees maximum safety, and can be easily changed when required. Have not used the trimmer to any great extent yet, but the for the use it has had it's completely fulfilled our needs.
We previously had an A4 trimmer which gave very good service for home use, but decided to upgrade to an A3 larger size for more versatility for the project work we are planning. It's lovely to have such a sharp blade. One drawback for us is that we have to store it away after use and the 552 is obviously heavier and more bulky than our old A4 model. One helpful feature is having the many grid lines to help line up the paper accurately.
Had one that was very pleased with but disappointed when the cutting wheel starting coming off the rail. Cutter was about 6 years old when this started to happen. Apart from that was happy to buy another and try again. Fingers crossed we don't have the same problem again
The trimmer is well built and looks like it should last, which was why it was purchased. Not too heavy and can be wall mounted to keep it out the way which I am considering as my office area is small.
